Forbes highlights ‘Fun and Approachable’ spring cocktail
April 22, 2025Children of all ages enjoy playing arcade games at 810 Entertainment. There is a science behind the fun, though.
810 Entertainment relies on industry-leading technology to ensure guests win while having a great time with friends and family.
810 Entertainment’s location in Estero, Florida, was the subject of a news article exploring the technology of arcade games. Southwest Florida Business Today spotlighted the venue in its April 2025 technology issue.
The article, titled “Arcades bring Las Vegas tech to gaming machines,” correlated the technology of arcade games to the tech prevalent in casinos. Gambling venues rely on technology to ensure fairness for both players and casinos.
810 Entertainment employs a state-of-the-art Games Management System that monitors wins and losses in real time. Canada-based High Score Entertainment manages arcades at 810 Entertainment locations nationwide.
“People should win games, have fun and go home with prizes,” notes Bob Evens, High Score’s director of operations, “and arcades should be able to make a profit. Technology has introduced a level of fairness to both sides that didn’t exist in past generations.”

Arcade Games at 810 Entertainment
810 Entertainment is best known for offering billiards and bowling. After all, the company’s former name was 810 Billiards and Bowling. All 810 Entertainment locations still feature those two social sports. Games vary by location, but these activities are among the offerings at select locations:
- Darts
- Ping Pong
- Corn Hole
- Shuffleboard
- Axe throwing
- Mini golf
- Sports simulators
- Laser tag
- Complimentary board games
Arcade games, though, are a featured attraction at 810 Entertainment. Some games are purely chance, like pulling a lever and hoping it lands on a high number of tickets. Other games involve some levels of skill, like hitting a button to stop at a certain point or throwing balls at a target. Then others are pure skill, such as basketball shooting or alley roller games.
Nearly all arcade games are tied to a ticket system that allows players to win prizes. Board games, electronics, toys and trading cards are among the prizes.
Virtual reality games, on the other hand, are intended primarily for entertainment.
The news article concluded by reflecting on the sense of nostalgia that arcades bring – stimulating colors, flashing lights and sounds of carnival music, jackpots ringing and children having fun… “and that’s really what it’s all about.”
